Structural composition and working principle
Core structure
Bellows body:
Made of stainless steel (e.g. 304, 316L) or high-temperature alloy, it absorbs axial, lateral or angular displacements through the elastic deformation of the corrugated structure.
The number of bellows layers is designed according to the pressure level, usually single-layer or multi-layer, and the multi-layer structure can improve the pressure-bearing capacity and fatigue life.
Connectors and support structure:
Both ends are connected with secondary air box, air duct and other equipments by flange or welding, and the outer side is equipped with limit tie rods or guiding brackets to prevent excessive displacement of expansion joints leading to damage.
Some expansion joints are equipped with heat insulation layer to avoid heat loss or high temperature burns.
